CHARACTER : sweet
VARIETY : Chardonnay / Savagnin / Poulsard / Trousseau
DESCRIPTION :
Vin de paille is produced in each of the Jura's PDO areas: Arbois, Côtes-du-Jura and l'Étoile. It is made from Poulsard, Savagnin, Chardonnay or Trousseau grapes, following a very special procedure: painstaking selection of the very best bunches of grapes, drying for several months on a bed of straw or raised platform so that only the finest grapes remain, pressing at the end of January, then three years ageing in small barrels to develop the wine?s candied fruit aromas and so obtain a unique product. With its profusion of fruity aromas which linger on the palate, vin de paille is perfect as an aperitif, with foie gras or as an accompaniment to desserts.
